This Crime Stoppers Program began in 1982. Northampton County Crime Stoppers was revived in 2023 and is an independent non-profit organization. An independent board of directors was formed to oversee management, program development and fundraising.
The concept has developed into a combination of efforts by local media, businesses, civic and social clubs, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Crime Stoppers has been an effective tool to fight crime in other areas. We look forward to the growth of Northampton County Crime Stoppers Program.
Crime Stoppers is comprised of diverse, active and dedicated community representatives. Crime Stoppers provides a method for local law enforcement to receive information on crimes. These efforts increase tips, which in turn increase arrests in our community.
It is the mission of Northampton County Crime Stoppers to promote the welfare of communities and to lessen the burdens of federal, state and local governments by assisting their law enforcement agencies in the apprehension and conviction of criminals; training and advising law enforcement personnel and others who participate in such programs; helping to motivate members of the public to cooperate with their respective law enforcement agencies; stimulating and encouraging the flow of information to, among and between various law enforcement agencies; creating and circulating films, video and sound tapes, and printed material about crime prevention and Crime Stopper Programs, and otherwise promoting such programs.
