On January 13, 2025 at approximately 2:30 PM, Sgt. W. Killian, Lt. A. Collier, Sgt. M. Deloatch, Deputy G. Williams, and units with Narcotics Division arrested 38 year old, Jermel Broady, of Pleasant Hill, NC. He was served outstanding warrants for robbery incidents of the One9 store. These warrants resulted from investigations of incidents that occurred on 1/9/2025 and 1/12/2025.
The 1/9/2025 case investigation was conducted by Sgt. Det. M. Deloatch. Sgt. Det. M. Deloatch obtained warrants on Jermel Broady for felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony larceny, and possession of stolen goods & property.
The 1/12/2025 case investigation was conducted by Sgt. Det. W. Killian. Sgt. Det. W. Killian obtained warrants on Jermel Broady for felony attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Jermel Broady received no bond on these charges and a court date scheduled for January 16, 2025 in Northampton County.

On January 9, 2025 at approximately 7:20 PM, a robbery occurred at the One 9 in Pleasant Hill, NC.
A black male wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, unlaced boots, a black mask, and black gloves entered the store and demanded the store clerks to open the register.
The suspect fled on foot toward NC Highway 48 after stealing several packs of Newport Cigarettes.

On Monday October 28, 2024 at approximately 10:30 PM, an armed robbery occurred at the New Dixie Mart in Garysburg, NC. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot toward I95.

Stolen Motor Vehicle

On October 28, 2024 at approximately 7:30 AM, a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle occurred in the parking lot of the New Dixie Mart in Garysburg, NC. The motor vehicle was also stolen. The motor vehicle is a gold in color 2006 Toyota Camry with NC registration KKF-8103. This motor vehicle was last seen driving toward Gaston, NC on Highway 46.

Homicide
March 16, 2024
On Saturday 3/16/2024 at approximately 7:17 AM, Northampton County Sheriff's Office responded to the Gaston Boat Landing initially in reference to a one vehicle wreck.
Upon arrival and investigation, a 19 year old black male of Roanoke Rapids area was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds upon the body.
This incident has been determined to be a homicide. Northampton County Sheriff's Office and NC State Bureau of Investigations will be assisting Gaston Police Department with this investigation.

Drug Investigation
December 29, 2023
STATUS: ARRESTED
On December 29, 2023, Northampton County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, Criminal Investigation Division, and patrol deputies, along with the assistance of Conway Police Department, Hertford County Sheriff's Office and Ahoskie Police Department executed a search warrant at an apartment in Conway, NC.
The search warrant stemmed from numerous complaints from local citizens about drug activity in the apartment complex as well as multiple complaints of shooting in this area along with a thorough investigation within this apartment area / apartment.
During the search of the apartment, law enforcement located three firearms, fentanyl, powder cocaine, 17.6 grams "crack" cocaine, and 401.7 grams marijuana. 41-year-old Maurice Deloatch of Conway was arrested and charged with Possession of Weapon of Mass Destruction, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, PWIMSD Schedule I Controlled Substance, PWIMSD Cocaine, and PWIMSD Marijuana. He received a $170,000 secured bond and next court date scheduled for 1/16/2024.
Homicide

On Saturday, December 16, 2023, Northampton County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Highway 301 outside of Garysburg, NC in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, one (1) male subject had been located and was shot numerous times upon the upper body. The twenty-five (25) year old male victim, Eric Kendall, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling
November 12, 2023
On Sunday 11/12/2023 at approximately 11:05am, a grey in color Nissan four door car with tinted windows, chrome with black accent rims, pulls into a local public housing area and began firing a rifle style firearm into an occupied dwelling. The suspect is described as wearing a white shirt and tan pants. We need the public's help in trying to identify the owner and/or occupant(s) of this vehicle.
Thankfully nobody sustained injuries during this act of violence.
Northampton Co. Sheriff's Office is the investigating agency.
